2 Month Check-up

So Harris had his 2 months Dr visit yesterday and it confirmed what my back and arms already knew.....he's a big boy. He's 25" long and weighs 15 lbs. He's wearing 6-9 month clothes and I've started leaving the infant carseat in the car; I can't lift it with him in it. As soon as he can sit up I'm switching him over to a regular carseat.

I was nervous going into the appointment. We weren't seeing his regular Dr (and I had switched Pediatricians just to get this Dr). I was familiar with the Dr we were seeing, I had seen her myself, but I didn't know if she ageed with her partner on issues like circumcision and vaccinations. So when she was checking out his twig and berries, I was right there ready to grab her arm if she tried to do anything unnecessary with his equipment. And on the vaccine front, I caved and Harris was given the Rotavirus vaccine along with the Pediarix (it's a 3 in one). But we are going back next month to get a couple more, I don't oppose all vaccines. I oppose getting 6 in one day. Yikes! I haven't made up my mind as to the remaining 2 doses of the Rotavirus (read Dr Sears' The Vaccine Book for ingredients and you will understand my apprehension).

We have a pattern developing. He will usually sleep 7-8 hours a night and take a morning nap. As the day goes on he has a tendency to get fussy, which is OK if "Daddy" is home to hold him and give me a break. If Rocky isn't home a short car ride will do the trick (but with the cost of gas and the size of my a$$ I should be walking him around the block).

Poor Sophie is developing a complex. She loves to hold her brother but most of the time he starts to fuss the minute I set him in her arms (which I consider payback for the grief she gave everyone as a baby). On the flip side, Camille often has long "conversations" with Harris.
We suspect he may end up being a lot like Cassie when it comes to the gift of gab.

  1. He really likes when I call him handsome. I can get him cooing that way, if he's acutally looking at me and I use that "baby tone".
Also, WALK WITH ME DAMNIT! Then we can get exercise and put Harris to sleep for free!
